Don’t be a post hoarder

When you first start blogging, you may have one or two really fantastic ideas and then you become struck with overwhelming fear that these ideas are the best you’ll have and you need to use them at just the right time.

You begin asking yourself questions: Which day should I post it? Will it get enough attention? Should I withhold this great idea for when I have more readers? Should I make it into a series? Should I withhold parts of this great post for the book I will eventually write?

Okay, that last one was a bit of stretch.

But the answer to all these questions is that you don’t need to answer any of them. Post your great idea and move on. Make sure you’ve written it well. Don’t hang on to it.

If you have really great ideas at the beginning, the more you use them, the more great ideas you’ll continue to have.

As Oscar Wilde said, “Find expression for a joy and you intensify its ecstasy.”

If you love what you are writing about, and you probably do, since you are writing about your business, you will continue to find inspiration day-to-day.

I’m not that much of a online reader to be honest but your sites really nice, keep it up! I’ll go ahead and bookmark your website to come back later. Many thanks

It sounds ridiculous, but blogging can be kind of scary. I keep a handwritten sign by my computer that reads “There is no such thing as an eraser on the Internet.” I’m hoping that this will keep me mindful of what I post (that and a promise to myself to not drink and blog). But now I wonder, after I put time and energy into my posts, is it worse to regret something you posted, or have no one care what you posted?

Sure, it can be scary. But I think the internet is way more forgiving than people think. Sure, it’s out there but most of the time, people forget quickly, unless you’re a politician. :)
